Yar back from the dead!

Ok, long time with next to no painting, but slowly this starts to change.  My wife and I have bought a house, and thankfully I get a dedicated 40k area now.  I've started working on a little bit of terrain, I'll post pics of them at some point, real quick here is what has been on my project table as of late.  It's a fully done escort squad.

Getting to know the armies: Thousand Sons

aaaaaand now that the semester is over I'll get around to another get to know the armies post.  This time we've got my Thousand Sons army.  This army was started as part of an Adepticon team more two years ago.  It's a smaller force, only about 1500 pts or so.  Sorry for the camera work, I'm still figuring out how to take pictures of minis.

Going to actually use a break since it's a lot of pictures.

Getting to know the armies: Tau Air Caste Forces

Ok, so the first set of minis to get shown off are my Tau air caste forces.  I have a small collection of Aeronautic Imperialis aircraft and a small Battlefleet Gothic fleet.

The A.I. wing is quite small, just 4 minis.  A pair of Tiger Shark AX-1-0s shown here:

And a pair of Barracudas for escorts:

Of course neither of them are painted yet.  Really not sure where I'm headed with color schemes, we'll figure that out later.

On to BFG, I have a small (just shy of 1k I think) Tau forge world fleet.  Here is the fleet in it's current state:

In the back is a Custodian class carrier, then two Protector class cruisers, and in the front are four Warden class escorts.  The ship range from primed, to base coated, to various levels of washing.  I'm going for a dark purplish/blue set of ships with electric blue highlights, we'll see how it goes.  The tau fleet is my current project, so some more detailed pictures of the Wardens will be coming up at some point in the next week or two, along with more posts on my various collections.

The Project Blog Starts...

Dear god, after talking about starting up a Warhammer 40k/Fantasy/BFG/whatever project blog for about 2 years, I'm actually going to do it.  Maybe, just maybe, it will actually result in me getting some painting done.  This blog isn't anything special, no insider information, and there are enough blogs out there talking about "how you should be playing game X" that I just don't feel like doing that.  Instead this is just a place for me to show what I'm working on to my friends and any random people who wander past.  I'll get a couple of "introducing the armies" posts up showing what armies I own and their current state.  For a preview, the list is:

• Tau (40k, Battle Fleet Gothic, and Aeronautica Imperialis)
• Thousand Sons (40k)
• Eldar (40k)
• Imperial Guard (40k)
• Grey Knights (40k)
• Dwarfs (Fantasy)

Yeah, it's a fairly large list, some of it is painted ok, some of it not.  I'm not going to lie, I've always been more of a "best general" sort of player then a "best painted" sort of player. I'm hoping this will change that.  This is all for now, in the coming week I'll get some pictures of my forces up for the viewing.
